Serve.

July 20, 2020 By Mac Ewart

The third and final tenet of care at Arlumen Health is to Serve. As we stated in previous posts, our tenets of care begin by listening to the patient, which allows us to love the patient, which only then can we truly serve our patients selflessly. What does serving selflessly mean at Arlumen?

To serve selflessly is to put all components of one’s self aside for the sake of providing elite, second-to-none, care for the patient in front of you. Such a standard of care would not be possible without hearing-out and loving one’s patient within their situation first, which is why serving is last and is ultimately our goal.

As a health system, we provide our Texas communities with selfless service, because there is no room for anything else in holistic care that listens and loves. All professionals who call Arlumen Health their work-home are called to serve selflessly above all else. Our entire existence is for you, the patient! If we are not meeting this goal, then we should not exist. You are our priority, you are family, and we will listen, love, and serve to meet your needs for wellness and healing! This is the Arlumen way.

Love.

February 12, 2019 By Mac Ewart

In the previous post we talked about how the first tenet of care at Arlumen Health was to Listen. The second tenet is to Love. Only after listening (truly taking time to hear what the patient has to say) can a healthcare provider care for a patient with the tenet of Love. So what does it mean to love your patient?

At Arlumen Health we define loving our patient as stepping into the situation that they have just shared with us on a personal level. That means we will never just write you a script and say “goodluck!” No. We will take the time to understand the source(s) of your problems, and we will exhaust every avenue possible within our power as a health system to meet your need with love and care of someone who we would consider family – our patients deserve that.

Love is more than just care though, love is the root for wellness and healing. That is why love stems from listening and is strived for by all professionals who call Arlumen Health their work-home!

Listen.

January 1, 2019 By Mac Ewart

How many times have you simply asked your doctor to listen? How many times does it seem like the nurse is just too busy to slow down to hear your words? Not listening to the patient is one of the easiest things to do in healthcare, yet it is often one of the first things forgotten in the midst of balancing the care of many patients…

What if your doctor did listen, and what if your nurse did slow down? Would you feel heard? Would you feel loved? Would both of those things lead to better service of your needs as a patient confiding in your clinic? From what we at Arlumen Health have heard, those answers are “yes”, “yes”, and “yes!” These simple acts can make the world of a difference in a day and age where care feels ever-more depersonalized and dehumanized.

Listening is the first tenet of three that are engrained into every professional who calls Arlumen Health their work-home. Nothing else can be accomplished for a patient if their care providers cannot listen first. For this reason, it is the first tenet. At Arlumen Health we strive to always listen, and we will always acknowledge our patients when they let us know that we are not – that is a promise to you, the lovely people of our Texas!

Arlumen Health…a dream in the making.

June 1, 2018 By Mac Ewart

In 2010, a business plan was drafted casually as an idea from a dream. In that dream, our founder and CEO Mac Ewart, imagined new methods for affordable healthcare delivery and satellite locations. With the creativity of a high school student, this plan took on a larger-than-life form in what felt like “an impossible feat.”

However, years later, and many business, science, and medicine class later the curiosity never ended. This curiosity was re-sparked ablaze as Mac felt compelled to give-back to the State of Texas, and the people who had done so much for him. As a nurse assistant, Mac spent his days caring for people of all ages, from babies to the elderly. Seeing how beautiful life was and experiencing the joys of service instilled a newborn drive to act on that dream from so many years before – the people deserved it. Constantly, in the State of Texas, healthcare is plagued by the almost insurmountable barriers of time and distance.

That 2010 dream provides a solution to these barriers. Healthcare, through state-of-the-art innovation, will be achieved at the highest standard for our wonderful patients…no matter where they are. You spoke, we listened. You trusted, we loved. You came to us, we will always serve! Arlumen Health will be the standard bearer of healthcare for all systems to model after.

Meet the CEO

March 8, 2018 By Michelle Bradford

Meet our CEO: Mac Ewart.

Mac Ewart is the Founder of Arlumen Health. An alumni of Texas Tech University, he is currently a student physician at the UNTHSC Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he is focused on becoming one of tomorrow’s servant leaders in Health. He believes that physicians have the ability, and the responsibility, to transform lives through the healing arts. His goals are to save lives, and to blaze trails so that others may do the same.

From these very same values, Mac has always dreamed bigger for how healthcare can be for Texans. Early in his career he was a nurse assistant to many residents of central and west Texas – two areas of the Lonestar State that often place patients in the position of needing to drive long distances for healthcare. This problem presented itself in Mac’s patients in often saddening ways. Patients deserve better than to be harmed by time and distance…this is Texas and we can do better!

By listening to patients, Mac discovered much of their problems with continuing treatments. By loving his patients, Mac found he could not walk away from the calling responsibility to the people of this great State. By selflessly serving his patients, Mac discovered the true joys of healing others in their moments of weakness. Arlumen Health now embodies the “Listen. Love. Serve.” model for healthcare delivery at all stages. Formed out of this man’s vision, we at Arlumen will strive to be a light in your darkness.
